Will you or are you enjoying our music? It’s rock, it’s country, It’s folk. It’s provoking. It’s entertaining.
In the arts we need to challenge, in fact, really say it loud. We face extinction and while the planet is exploited to feed greed.
Destruction is assured unless we all wake up.
We want to entertain, awaken and encourage listeners to take actions. Everything we do counts. We all just need to do something
So here are the lyrics for some of our current and upcoming songs.
First off is Kaleidoscope
I wrote Kaleidoscope thinking about the root causes of poor mental health in children and illness that haunts adulthood, through no fault of their own.
It’s on Cuttleloose EP. Music by James Lascelles
Kaleidoscope – don’t shoot the singer, hear the song.
I’ve always seen the world through my fractured splintered mind
A world that’s cruel and greedy and really not so kind.
The kids emerge disturbed/ reeling desperate for some hope.
I guess if they’re like you and me they see kaleidoscope.
I know who I am. Hey You don’t know me.
Native American child healthy and free.
You’ve got to see the damage that you do
before the world turns its power back on you.
Tik Tok tells the story. It’s where our children lay in wait.
They’ve learnt the ways that’ll make them all societies perfect bait.
It’s time to intervene and prick the boil not the whore
The root CAUSE of this problem needs attacking, that’s for sure.
I know who I am. You don’t know me.
European child I’ll live healthy and free.
You’ve got to see the damage that you do
before the world turns its power back on you.
I watch the people / power struggle/ to SEE the light of day
Their convinced that their/ education/ is the key to solve dismay
They’ll impose their doctrine/ and their dogma/ whatever people cry
Then they wonder why the, why the young ones/ cut their arms and sometimes die.
You know, we face a cycle that just perpetuates
A bruising, brutal, battering ram designed to obfuscate.
If we nurture all our young and teach them all about free play
Then they will soon discover a route to a perfect happy day.
I know who I am. You don’t know me.
A Chinese child I’ll live healthy and free.
You’ve got to see the damage that you do
before the world turns its power back on you.
You can only really/ see this through a/ fractured splintered mind.
Because you know that/ what they did was/ really quite unkind.
They’re a product/ of a system/ that’s learned to smile and thrill
The only way to/ break the cycle – swallow the bitter pill.
I see the world in all its glory, please don’t get me wrong
It’s time to break the cycle, don’t shoot the singer hear the song
There ain’t no doubt that we must face the crisis, clear the smoke
Lets stare it out and shake it down peek in Kaleidoscope
I know who I am. You don’t know me.
An African child I’ll live healthy and free.
You’ve got to see the damage that you do
before the world turns its power back on you.

Imagine there’s a time when we discover who we are.
We embrace and love and cherish all our difference near and far
Society will be at peace rejecting hate, embracing hope.
I guess if your like me then you will see kaleidoscope.
I know who I am. You don’t know me.
An Asian child I’ll live healthy and free.
You’ve got to see the damage that you do
before the world turns its power back on you.
